Irum Malik

Irum Malik is 19 years old and she lives in Queens. Irum became involved with film making when she did Documentary Workshop at EVC. Before getting involved in that program, she didn’t really have confidence or any idea about making films, until she realized that it has an impact on our world. Irum has made one documentary. While being involved in YO-TV she along with some of her friends have started to work on another documentary which will be about communication and its impact. Irum has also worked at MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) where she led PSA workshops (public service announcements) and talk shows. While having a passion for poetry and being an aspiring poet, Irum has achieved the first prize for a poetry contest. Irum’s future plans are to teach media making. Other than media, Irum is very interested in teaching English literature. Irum believes “if there is a will, there is a way” and that’s what has been helping her to achieve what she has achieved in her life.
