Ayaris Perez

Ayaris is a filmmaker and teaching artist from the Bronx. Her teaching work is rooted in social justice pedagogy supporting youth in reclaiming their narratives through various art forms. She believes film is a form of resistance and healing that we need to capture our stories, to reclaim our narratives, and transform Black and Brown voices in order to affect social change and liberation. The social justice area Ayaris cares about most is building social conscience. And what she loves about working at EVC is working with students to realize their potential, to express and demand action through media.
