Description

Feeling the Fallout explores the experiences of teachers as they navigate social injustice inside and outside the classroom. The film follows two teachers, Juan Carlos, a DACA recipient and high school math teacher, Hector, who despite economic hardship, returned to teach at his alma mater. Through strong relationships with their students, Juan Carlos’ and Hectors’ experiences become inspiration for their students with similar obstacles. The film explores issues such as culturally relevant education, vicarious trauma, and teacher burnout, and ultimately asks the question: how much of the fallout from society should our education system bear?
