    Yhenni Vogue (she/her) Alumni Advisory Council EVC Films: Family Portrait: Growing up With Divorce and Parental Separation (2017), The Queer Survival Guide (2018), Colors of Health: Understanding Unequal Care in New York City (2018), Can You See Me Now (2018), Something in Our Water (2019). Yhenni (Yhennisa) is a 24 year old Bronx native. She started in EVC with her first YDW (Youth Documentary Workshop) with the cohort of 2017 with their film “Family Portrait”. Yhenni then went on to create 4 more films with the EVC before finally continuing in her path. Since then, she has attended Bronx Community College’s Film Production Training, and is currently the office manager at a holistic medicine practice. She continues to work on photography and videography with her fiancé for fun and as a side gig!   • Mary Grueser | EVC

    Mary Grueser (she/her) Deputy Director, Programs Mary Grueser is the Deputy Director of Programs. Prior to becoming Deputy Director, Mary served as Director of Professional Development Programs and the We are All Connected urban-rural exchange program at EVC. Mary is an educator, facilitator, and media maker centered in the intersecting areas of youth media, critical pedagogy, documentary filmmaking, and media literacy. She holds an M.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Media and Human Rights from The New School. Her professional experience includes serving as a facilitator for the Sustainable Development and Social Justice in Central America program with Augsburg College's Center for Global Education, leading collaborative youth media workshops in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and working as a public high school Spanish teacher in rural Central Appalachia. Mary says, “what I love about working at EVC is deeply collaborating with inspiring youth, educators, and changemakers.” (ella) Subdirectora de Programas Mary Grueser es la subdirectora de programas. Antes de convertirse en subdirectora, Mary trabajó como directora de los Programas de Desarrollo Profesional y el intercambio urbano-rural We are All Connected de EVC. Mary es una educadora, facilitadora y creadora de medios centrada en las áreas de intersección de los medios juveniles, la pedagogía crítica, la realización de documentales y la alfabetización mediática.   • Ifeyinwa Arinze | EVC

    Ifeyinwa Arinze (she/her) Youth Media Assistant Ifeyinwa Arinze is a filmmaker from Nigeria, based in New York City. Her work centers intimate portrayals of Black women and girls that are grounded in tenderness and care. Named a 2025 Berlinale Talent, her work has been supported by organizations like BAFTA, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York Women In Film and Television, Video Consortium, and the Film at Lincoln Center’s Artist Academy. Ifeyinwa holds an MFA degree in Film Production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She earned a BFA in Neuroscience from Mount Holyoke College. Ifeyinwa participated in EVC’s Credible Educators program in 2024. (ella) Asistente de Medios Juveniles Ifeyinwa Arinze es una cineasta originaria de Nigeria y radicada en Nueva York. Su trabajo se centra en retratos íntimos de mujeres y niñas negras, basados en la ternura y el cuidado.   • EVC | NMA

    EVC’s New Media Arts Apprenticeship (NMAA) is an afterschool workshop that annually gives 180 high school students college and career preparation in digital media arts as they learn to shoot video and photography, remix archival social justice footage and design an interactive website. NEW MEDIA ARTS APPRENTICESHIP Created in 2012, EVC’s award-winning multimedia program New Media Arts Apprenticeship prepares young people for college and careers in new digital media arts. New Media Arts Apprenticeship (NMA) is a credit-bearing afterschool and summer program in which youth in high school create interactive websites exploring a community issue of relevance to them. This two-part program runs two afternoons a week for 15 weeks in the Spring semester, followed by a paid Summer internship for 6 weeks as an NMA apprentice. Youth learn to create interactive websites, update and remix an EVC archival social justice documentary, shoot and edit video and photos. Youth learn Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Wix, and other industry-standard software. The students’ final interactive websites are presented and celebrated at a public premiere and are broadly disseminated. Students who successfully present their portfolios at the end of the semester are eligible for high school credit. Youth gain industry-standard digital imaging and editing skills and NMA opens pathways to college-level media arts programs. Want to learn more? Enroll students from your high school?   • Margaret Sheble | EVC

    Margaret Sheble (she/they) Archive Distribution Specialist Margaret Sheble (she/they), a 2024-2026 American Council of Learned Societies Leading Edge Fellow, holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English Literature from Purdue University and a B.A. in Art History from Northern Arizona University. As the Archive Distribution Specialist at EVC, she will help co-create anti-oppressive strategies with the community for archival content and coordinate select archival programs and film festivals. Margaret has held key roles in museums, universities, and cultural institutions, including editor, digital learning manager, instructor, archivist, and curator. Recently, she served as Secretary and Co-Chair of the Library Committee for the Rochester Rainbow Union, focusing on Pride outreach and LGBTQIA+ resources while implementing a new strategic plan. Margaret is a strong advocate for the transformative impact of storytelling and the vital need for equitable access to cultural resources. (ella/elle) Especialista en Distribución de Archivos Margaret Sheble (ella/elle), becaria Leading Edge del Consejo Americano de Sociedades de Humanidades (American Council of Learned Societies) 2024-2026, posee un doctorado y una maestría en Literatura Inglesa por la Universidad de Purdue, así como una licenciatura en Historia del Arte por la Universidad del Norte de Arizona.
