As the fall semester comes to a close, EVC invites educators across New York City to join us for these free events:


Teacher Network Wine & Cheese Night 5:00 – 6:30pm ,Tuesday, December 4, 2012 Educational Video Center @ 120 W 30th Street, 7th Floor Come celebrate the amazing work being produced in the field this semester and connect with educators who facilitate this process. Light refreshments will be served.


Screening – Through Our Eyes: Three Decades of EVC Youth Documentaries 3:30pm – Thursday, December 6, 2012

The Film Society of Lincoln Center Elin Bunin Munroe Film Center @ 144 West 65th Street (Between Broadway & Amsterdam) Spanning three decades worth of extraordinary work, the EVC Retrospective Series captures moments in New York’s history through the fresh, but unblinking eyes of emerging teen filmmakers. Join us for this powerful program that provides the youth perspective on the School to Prison pipeline through three hard-hitting short films. Space is limited, please RSVP to reserve seats for your class and receive complimentary teacher guide.


Sign Up Now for Spring & Summer EVC Programs EVC is now accepting enrollment for Spring & Summer programs. Find out more about our in-school Professional Development Programs for classroom educators as well as afterschool and summer Youth Documentary Workshops for New York City youth.


Professional Development Program – EVC provides workshops and resources in media production and EVC’s methodology, including EVC’s Youth Powered Video DVD Curriculum, for K-12 teachers and after-school educators, nationally and abroad. Youth Documentary Workshop – EVC’s signature afterschool and summer program teaches high school students to research, shoot, and edit compelling documentaries that examine issues of immediate relevance in their lives. EVC is now accepting enrollment for the 15-week credit-bearing afterschool program for the spring semester; there is also a 7-week stipend-bearing program in the summer.
